If you are like me you have seen hundreds of adverts and sales pages online that promise to make you rich and present you with a millionaire lifestyle. How tempting does that Villa and yacht look?? Unfortunately it’s not you and me that are going to make money from these programs it’s the owner and maybe a few of his affiliates.
Making money online is not as simple as these ads make it seem. Unfortunately there are no short cuts you need to not only learn the basics of creating a profitable website but master them as well. You’ve probably had friends or acquaintances recommend a product to you after it helped them to make lots of money. Thats doesn’t mean it will work for you. No doubt they have experience and know how internet marketing works.
Think back to when you started to ride a bike. What did you parents buy for you first? A racing bike or a simple bike with training wheels? If they were sensible then it would have been the bike with the removable training wheels. The same when you learned to drive, did you learn in a relatively slow car and easy to use car or 180 MPH Porsche. It’s quite obvious why you don’t learn on something thats too difficult to ride or drive because if you did you’d soon lose confidence and give up.
How many times do you think you would have fallen of a race bike when you small before you decided that you would never be able to ride a bike ? Unfortunately Internet Marketing is very similar. If you have too many failures too early in your career then you’ll lose faith in yourself and give up.
Thats the end of the negative stuff! Now lets see how you should start your internet marketing career.
Firstly you need to master the basics. Find out what niches are and why you should target long-tail keywords. Once you know some of the basics set out a plan of what you are going to do. Try a little market research , what is making people money. Work out what type of sites will suit you. Initially you will feel like you’ll never master it but stick with it within a short will you’ll be seeing your bank balance increase.
Try to resist buying every tool you see advertised until you have a firm grasp of what you want to do. There are far more free resources online than you probably realize. Make use of them, every cent you save now is a cent closer you get to making a profit.
